I havent read the whole post so dont flame me if someone has already said this... I dont agree with the kick party member idea, but what could be very useful is a mute party member vote. You could stop stupid idiots spamming noob on team chat

I am against kick for the most part and I do pugs.
I can see kick for special cases.

If person is afk after a set time, the option then opens up.

Or person if off the map from the rest of the players (goes off and does there own thing), after set time kick option opens up.

If player does get kicked, they keep all there drops (like items left box after a mission that you did not pick up).

If you do vote, a guild party of 7 + random person could use random to till the end then kick (guild vs random).

For guild storage I can see a simple system.
Any item becomes guild
Someone wants item, click on item, then flags the item.
An officer or guild leader has to approve it, it then becomes there's

Someone needs to ask the frog about "soul reaping" there isn't any linked skills to it. Divine , tactic, and energy storage has skills(I don't know about mesmers Fast casting) I think this is unfair and should have a few signets or skills that are related.

A nice prequel think about an vote / kick system is look at how some player are huffy about skip cutscene if one or two want to watch it and the conflict it causes.

Only issue I have with a kick feature would be drops. Greed by party leaders could abuse this easily. Teams in the UW beware - if a glob drops, you'll be kicked, and the leader will scoop it up!

If the kick system also allowed the drops to travel with you (much like the dialog box that pops up after you finish a mission with stuff on the ground) back to town, that would help aleviate that problem.

I've not the time to read all the post here but if it hasn't been suggested:

For kicked members, they should recieve the same menu for accepting items as you do when a mission completes with items still unclaimed tagged to you. This would eliminate the "kicking for greed" problem.

As far as suggestions for the assassin: stealth should be restricted to modification of the overhead/agro bubble...i.e. no invisibility. Be nice to have a second class utilizing adrenaline.

New class suggestions: summoner. Always fun to have a true pet class; people like the variety pets add...though shapeshifter class provides the same type of variety, those are a bit harder to impliment.

Shapeshifter would have litttle use in the game because all it really could turn into would be animals then it is basicly a druid.
But I really like the kicking option. You don't know how many times I would have used that because of a W/Mo who doesn't know what an arrgo circle is.
But the assasign is a tough thing. I wonder how it will be made effective, because it simpily cannot become invisible and would be usefull, im my opinino, only in PvP.

Default Guild Storage is Absolutely Needed -- Just Implement Auditing

If the concern about guild storage is Theft, then there are two simple actions: (a) limit the amount of items that a single person can take w/o an officer's approval, (b) put an audit listing who took/gave what and when. An audit report will do wonders to solving any thoughts of theft.

Also I like lyra_song's idea about weapons being customizable to a given guild, and only usable for GvG, PvP or Tombs. Like PvP items, they are not tradable; and disappear when you log-out. That's a fantastic idea; thanks Lara Song.

However on many occasions there still was a party member who then decided on his/her own that he/she wanted to run anyway. For us, at the moment, there are only two options: leave the group, map back and start over or accept the running. We are very much opposed to accepting the running. A third possibility would be to "kick the party member" before he/she got to the next portal or outpost or mission cutscene. I would very much like to be able to do this.

A way to avoid the abuse of a kick party member option is to not allow a member to be kicked as long as there still is an unclaimed reserved item for him/her on the ground. This would mean that a person could not be kicked because he/she just got a rare item drop. And since reserved drops become unreserved after some time, a person who is deserving to be kicked could not use this as anti-kick protection.
Hmm.
I thing that kicking them would be a good point. To avoid abuse there should be something like "claim items" in missions. When player gets kicked he/she can claim items that was reserved for him/her (like when you complete the some missions). If items are not claimed they are left unrestricted.

well...

I used to play EQ for a long time. The way they did guild storage worked like this:

LEADER: The leader had supreme power. They could add or remove anything from the guild bank, as well as change the item's "class". The leader specifies who is a banker.
BANKER: The leader could specify a banker. A bankwe also has the power to add or remove anything from the bank, as well as change the item's "class"
MEMBER: The member has the ability to only get items from the bank that were marked specifically for them, public, or usable only.

ITEM CLASSES:
Banker Only: Only a banker can access this item. A banker can also change this item's class.
Public If Usable: Anyone may get this out of the bank, as long as it is usable. This would proabbly not apply in guildwars. A banker can change this items class.
Private: This item can be removed by a banker or the person it is designated to. Its class can be changed by a banker.
Public: Anyone can take this item. A banker can change this items class.

There also **should** be a list of all banking activities, readable by anyone

Anyone care to ask the frog this question if they see it again?

How about the option to re-accept a party member into the party after that member has dropped due to an ERR=7 or other crash and has come online again?

This is something that is really beginning to be annoying. All too often during a long mission or especially when in UW or FOW (where every player is important) there seems to be one or more sudden disappearances of a party member. Many times this is due to a crash. It would be of great help if that party member could rejoin after logging back into the game again.

This should not be impossible to implement. The server can always tell if someone voluntarilly left a group by mapping back to a town or simply "disappeared" into thin air. If the person voluntarilly left (or got kicked from the group if that is implemented) then there is no way for that person to try to rejoin. Otherwise the team leader could get a message stating that the person would like to rejoin, and then the team could decide yes or no. The rejoining player would have to be using the same character and with the same attribute stats and skills as before the crash.

Seriously though, it would be abused if there is a vote. People hate being criticized, even if the criticism against them is 100% legitimate. So many times I've told Leeroy Jenkins clones in Guild Wars to stop doing stupid things that gets them and most of party killed. Instead of saying "Yes you're right, my bad, I won't do that any more" more often their response is "STFU, you're not that good". Now...if you have more than one bad player in a party, this syndrome simply spreads like a plague and could very easily result in illegitmate votekicking. A /votekick would go up against anyone giving legitimate criticism against the cabal of bad players in his party.
sorry but i disagree, Your suggesting that the team leader and the other 6 members are all going to kick you because you say a few people are rushing and to stop.
And if all 7 other players are leeeeeroys (which i dont think will happen), do you honestly think they will do the mission in question anyway, errr no.

Like ive said, in all my 550 hours its always 1-2 members that ruin it, not the whole team.

And if you are getting in teams full of leeroys, then you need to be a little more picky.

May I quickly express my opinion.

1 - I'm displeased that, according to what the frog said, there won't be other playable races. I've always wanted to play a female charr...

2 - I'm very glad to learn that 15k tormentor is about to finally be implemented.

3 - I am very VERY VERY disappointed by the fact that the Anet guys will let us poor elementalists to deal with the new update. My main character is an elementalist and now 90% of my area spells have become nearly useless. Of course, it's all a matter of changing the build, as the frog said. Nothing wrong with it. I did it already. The problem is that changing the build will also mean that area spells are now USELESS. They could as well delete them from the skills list. Now my PvE build has become very very similar to my PvP build. And I don't like it.
Not to mention how elementalists seem to be much less required in farming teams now...

4 - The "kick party member" thing would be useful on some cases but... hey, if you were so silly as to form up a team with a noob and don't notice it immediately, it's your problem and you have to deal with it! Not to mention that this kick-member thing could easily backfire: having the noobs kick out the good players. Naw, they'd better not implement it.

For the player kick option, why not have a "kick protest" option. This would allow a leader to request the removal of a player and that player is given a warning dialog such as "Party Leader is attempting to remove you from party" or whatever. This would allow AFK players to be removed with ease, but a player who is being victimised can "protest" the kick? Just a thought...

As for the guild storage, I'm wondering what this is specifically - are we talking about a normal Xunlai agent in the guild hall with the player's individual storage vault so items can be obtained without having to visit a town? I certainly can see the convenience of that.

If there is to be a storage vault for the entire guild to "share", the inherent security dangers could be allieviated somewhat by employing a "Guild Customisation" in the same way a player's armor is customised. Say for instance an unscrupulous guild member steals a valuable item from the guild storage and tries to resell it - the item would show up as "customised for xxxx guild" and untradable. Perhaps some form of item tracking could come into play to retrieve items that people might steal simply to "grief" a guild? Here I'm more or less extending the idea posted above about Guild Leader, Guild Banker and Guild Member rights. The items in guild storage could be designated as "Guild Property", "Guild Loans" (for lending to needy players on a temporary basis) and "Guild Charity" (to be sold for profit by needy players) with all except Guild Charity items being "customised for guild".

I know this was a long post, but I got carried away with ideas, please criticize at will.

What I find annoying is that I usually get kicked out of a party without a veto on World of Warcraft...

I think the Party-vote for Party-kick-member will be a great idea, and thus if the person still in town is too late to get into that party, BUT wants to join that merged party could wait then be prompted to join it or not if the vote has concluded that player as 'useless' or 'AFK too long'... or even being a jerk overall!

This may need sharpening up, but it could work nontheless

Over the past week, I've had a chance to PvE with some PUG Elementalists who were using Fire. And no one complained, and of what I saw, they were still doing a decent amount of damage to the enemy.

Think of AoE as a circle protection, if you are fighting a group of warriors, the AoE will usually break the group up, or at least the warriors will be running out, and then running back in, breaking their cycle of attack, which can really be helpful for a monk.

In my opinion, the AoE works more like it should, forcing the enemy to break their attacks, and if they don't, they'll get damage.

Do PvP players sit in AoE? Do you? I doubt it.

well no offense but ill beLIEve it when i see it.

imho the auction hall is the most needed option. i mean, i wouldnt even have played pve a bit if i knew anet was gonna wait till 9-7 to start the faction program we have now. i would have waited till then to play the game. im not about to waste my time selling all my gold items (that you cant get anymore coz they nerfed aoe).

in EQ2 they have guild bank. the leader can specify exactly how much any person can take out of the vault in a 24 hour time period (or longer) (of course this often leads to the leader just using it as a massive bank vault)

kick feature? no. you are taking the easy way out. i ENJOY monking in a team with a suicidal caster. makes an easy game challanging. :P

guild storage can be screwed with a sufficiently smart scammer. team kick can be screwed with sufficiently arsy people.

ArenaNet can't rebalance fire skills until after the World Championship, which ends some time in February. Until then, AoE spells will stay the same.

What's with the people that say they invested so much into their fire ele only to be rendered useless? Last time I checked, Meteor Shower still knocks down enemies so they can't run, and there were so many better fire skills than Firestorm in the first place. I play a fire ele with mostly one-shot attacks like Meteor, Fireball, Incendiary Bonds, and Immolate, and all those skills still work fine for me. Forgive me for not wanting to play the old tired "ECKO NOOKAR."

So don't worry, your Superior Fire Rune still has a use... unless you sold it early in favor of an air rune...
